Athleisure

“Athleisure: a style of clothing worn as athletic apparel but also suitable for casual, everyday wear.” Honestly, you can’t ask for more; athleisure allows you to wear comfortable clothes while looking chic and feeling confident. Brands such as Adidas, Champion, and Nike have always been known for their athletic wear, but it is truly the consumers of these brands that have formed the “athleisure” trend into what it is today. Designer, Kanye West has produced some of the most popular athleisure looks within his Yeezy collections. The entire Kardashian family has become a walking advertisement for the brand. Yeezy has certainly been a major influence for other designers in the world of athleisure. Be sure to look out for some of the smaller brands such as I.AM.GIA, Cotton Citizen, and P.E. Nation.

I love the fact that sweatpants are no longer dubbed, “lazy clothes” because when you pair them with the right accessories and a bomb hairstyle, your outfit can be just as elegant as an outfit that consists of jeans and a nice top. Several fashion street style queens that I look to for athleisure inspiration include model Romee Strijd, Kourtney Kardashian, and Youtuber Kallie Kaiser.

  1. Personally, I love athleisure. A perfectly cropped sweatshirt is totally in. Athleisure has “ran” its way into my heart and the entire fashion industries heart. Trends like these aren’t leaving any time soon, so (sadly) its the oldies in fashion, so sorry Anna!!!, that can’t and just never will understand trends like these.

  2. We can thank athleisure for being able to wear sweats out to dinner because frankly, this sweatshirt costs more than your 400$ dress. Bye boring A line dress and shiny black pumps (I will admit a nice pump is always a good look). Hi designer sneakers and joggers.

  3. I would also want to be the first one to point out that yes, sweats are still lame. Athleisure it not just wearing your school’s sweatpants and your old sweatshirt that is not and never will be a good look.
